The absolute oil of oakmoss is obtained from the green lichen which mainly grows in the trunk and branches of oak trees. Lichen belongs to the parmeliaceae family and mainly extracted for its cooling and uplifting aroma. The Oak moss is having a green to greenish whitish color when it’s dry and dark olive green when it’s wet. It is commercially cultivated in the countries of south central Europe and exported to the Grasse region of France. This absolute oil is also identified by the common name of oak moss absolute and oak moss oil. It is the perfect combination of vital constituents such as d-usnic acid, Atranorine, Evernic acid, Chloratronorine.
