Labdanum Absolute Oil (Rock Rose) is extracted from the flowers of Labdanum by the solvent extraction method. Labdanum is also known as Gum Rockrose (Cistus ladanifer), ladanum or ladan which is a sticky brown resin sourced from the Cistus creticus (eastern Mediterranean) and Cistus ladanifer (western Mediterranean), species of rockrose. It is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the family Cistaceae. It is a small sticky shrub that grows up to the height of 3m. The leaves of this plant remains green all round the year and are lanceolate, 3-10 cm long and 1-2 cm broad. Absolute Oil of Labdanum has great effect on skin and widely used in the production of various cosmetic products. Due to its rich aroma it is also extensively used in the production of various scented products.
