Costus Root Oil is derived from the roots of Costus by steam distillation method. After the complex extraction method, the extract which is obtained is in form of yellow to brownish yellow viscous liquid. Roots of Costus plant is large, erect, perennial plant that can grow up to 2m of height. Costus is a genus of herbaceous plant that belongs to the family of Costaceae. The genus as a whole is often known as spiral gingers. It is known by various names such as costus Root Oil, Costus Root Essential Oil, Costus Root Absolute, Costus Oil. Chemical constituents of this absolute oil are Resinoids, 6 %, aplotaxene, Costus Acid, Costol, Lactone. Since thousands of years, root of Costus has been used as an incense and perfume ingredient and is also mentioned in Rabbinical writings. In China, it was enormously used in herbal medicine under the name"Mu Xiang" meaning \'wood aroma\'.

Costus oil is used for treating cholera, asthma, cough, gas, typhoid and severe intestinal ailments such as dysentery and cholera.
In foods and beverage industries, this absolute oil is used as a flavoring component.

Best oil for abdominal pain
I was suffering from abdominal pain from the past one year. I have tried lots of medicine but none of them worked for me. On the suggestion of my relative, I used Costus Root Oil. After using for about 15 days my abdominal pain has gone completely. This oil really works for me.
