Bergamot Oil is also known as Bergamot Orange. The word Bergamot comes from the city Bergamo in Italy, where the oil was first invented. Along with neroli and lavender, Bergamot oil is used as an active ingredient in the perfume industry. This oil is derived through an extensive cold pressed method from the rind of the Bergamot orange fruit. Bergamot tree belongs to the Rutaceae family and is originated from South-East Asia. At present, Bergamot tree is extensively cultivated in Europe (particularly in Italy) and few regions of Argentina and Brazil.

  • Uses

Cicatrisant: Bergamot oil is widely used to eliminate the effects of acne which may leave noticeable scars on the affected areas. The Cicatrisant property of this oil is the prime reason behind its extensive use in skin care and cosmetics products such as creams, ointments and beauty soaps.  

Antispasmodic: It soothes stressed nerves and muscles while providing instant relief in cramps, convulsions and painful muscle contractions. In addition, it can be helpful for those who have chronic coughing or respiratory problems as well as asthma. 

Digestive: This oil stimulates the secretion of digestive enzymes, acids and bile to facilitate digestion.
